One of the best things about Netflix’s Japanese TV romance Good Morning Call is all of the delicious food that they eat! Nao is a great cook and loves to make lunch and dinner for her boyfriend Uehara to make him happy – since he’s a “skinny pig”. Aside from the food, this is such a great show to binge so if you haven’t already, maybe this post will entice you (warning: mild spoilers ahead)! Get ready to call Uber Eats because these are the 15 Japanese foods you’ll be craving after watching Good Morning Call!
Whole30, as the name suggests, is a diet that’s all about eating whole foods. For 30 days you are only allowed to eat moderate portions of meat, seafood and eggs; lots of veggies; some fruit; natural fats; herbs and spices. The idea behind the challenge is to eliminate foods that could be having a negative impact on your health – such as, sugar, dairy, grains, legumes and alcohol. The rules are pretty strict, and having recently completed the Whole30, I know first hand how difficult it can be to complete. It would have been impossible for me to finish the challenge if I hadn’t done loads of meal-prepping and planning ahead.
One of the hardest parts was trying to find places to eat Whole30 in Melbourne. After doing research, reading restaurant menus and analysing photos of food online, I was able to come up with a list of places in Melbourne that appear to have Whole30 foods. I wasn’t able to try all of these places while I was doing the Whole30 (to be honest I was a little terrified of eating out and accidentally eating the wrong thing) but they all seem to have offerings that you could safely eat. It is always good though to ask your waiter/waitress about how the food is cooked/prepared if you are unsure. Here are places to eat Whole30 in Melbourne:
There is so much on offer in the Yarra Valley – wineries, breweries, restaurants as well as places to splurge on cheese and chocolate. And I am so lucky that it is all basically in my backyard.
Now I don’t want to give the impression that I’ve been everywhere there is to go in the Yarra Valley, but this list is more of a collection of places I’ve been to recently and a few that are next on my list to visit. So if you are planning a day trip out to this beautiful place, or if you live somewhat locally and are looking for somewhere new to try then read on. There is really something for every occasion.
So you’re traveling to Disneyland (California) or Walt Disney World (Florida)? Lucky you! Disney requires a LOT of planning. There’s so much to see, do and eat that you don’t want to miss out on something amazing because you haven’t prepared. You’ve come to the right place for food recommendations. This isn’t an exhaustive list by any means but it’s some of the delicious food I enjoyed on my recent trip (end of 2017) to America.
Have you ever found cartoon food more appealing than the real thing? Here are 10 times cartoons gave us food envy. Dig in!
If there is one thing you should know before going to Japan it’s that the food is amazing. Make sure you bring your appetite before visiting the Land of the Rising Sun because you are not going to want to miss out on any of the food on offer. I personally found that the standard of food in Japan is much higher than in other places I have traveled. I could confidently walk into any restaurant and know that I was most likely going to have an excellent meal made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.
Since I only spent 10 days in Japan I wasn’t able to eat all the things, but I sure did give it the old college try. There are probably some glaringly obvious things that I missed so leave a comment below and let me know what your Japan must eats are.
Seminyak, to me, is food, food, food (with a bit of beach and shopping in between). I ate my way through five days in Seminyak and felt like I never needed to eat again by the time I left. On reflection, the sad thing is I barely ate any local food. But when you see this list (which is in no particular order), you’ll see you can’t stay sad for long. Because there are some really, really good places to eat in Seminyak. Especially if you love brunching. Which I do.
Bali has become somewhat of a foodie haven of late. While Ubud has certainly become more touristy since the Eat, Pray, Love phenomenon, it is still a relaxed and tranquil sort of a place (seriously, take a yoga class while you’re in town). It’s also quite the scene for fresh and delicious food – there’s a distinctly hippy, eco-friendly vibe. Food is also super cheap – so there’s no reason why you can’t eat and eat and eat and eat on your next visit. So, in no particular order, here are ten highly-recommended places to eat at in Ubud, Bali.
