
Whole30, as the name suggests, is a diet that’s all about eating whole foods. For 30 days you are only allowed to eat moderate portions of meat, seafood and eggs; lots of veggies; some fruit; natural fats; herbs and spices. The idea behind the challenge is to eliminate foods that could be having a negative impact on your health – such as, sugar, dairy, grains, legumes and alcohol. The rules are pretty strict, and having recently completed the Whole30, I know first hand how difficult it can be to complete. It would have been impossible for me to finish the challenge if I hadn’t done loads of meal-prepping and planning ahead.
One of the hardest parts was trying to find places to eat Whole30 in Melbourne. After doing research, reading restaurant menus and analysing photos of food online, I was able to come up with a list of places in Melbourne that appear to have Whole30 foods. I wasn’t able to try all of these places while I was doing the Whole30 (to be honest I was a little terrified of eating out and accidentally eating the wrong thing) but they all seem to have offerings that you could safely eat. It is always good though to ask your waiter/waitress about how the food is cooked/prepared if you are unsure. Here are places to eat Whole30 in Melbourne:
