K-drama Recap: Romance is a Bonus Book ep 3 and 4

Kdrama

I’ve got to say this show is making me want to wrap myself in chunky knitwear, curl up with a book for a week and eat kimchi stew. Anyone else? I’m in Australia where we’ve just come out of a heatwave (so knitwear isn’t really appropriate), and while I might have access to books all day, I certainly don’t know how to make kimchi stew. Anyway, enough about me and what this show is doing to me. Let’s dive into episodes 3 and 4 of Romance is a Bonus Book. Beware: spoilers ahead!

The Roswell Reboot is Not an Echo of the Original

roswellnewmexico; roswell; roswellnm

“Every small town has a story, but my hometown has a legend.” These are the opening words of Roswell, New Mexico, the 2019 reboot of the 1999 TV series Roswell. Just like the original, it begins with narration from the female lead. But unlike her predecessor Liz Parker, Liz Ortecho doesn’t journal. The two shows will have similarities but Roswell, New Mexico will be more closely linked to the book series Roswell High. As a big fan of both the book series and the original TV series, here are my thoughts on the reboot.

How to Host a BTS Comeback Party

BTS Comeback Party

Annyeonghaseyo ARMY!

We are all anxiously waiting for BTS to release the final part in their Love Yourself series, ‘Love Yourself: Answer’, this Friday the 24 August.

The release of the album’s comeback trailer ‘Epiphany’ last week exceeded all expectations and we are all counting down the days until we have more new music, more music videos and answers to the narrative that has been weaved into BTS’ work through a variety of platforms (music videos, trailers, notes, etc.) since 2016.

If you’re lucky enough to have friends that are also BTS fans, the comeback is a great chance to gather around and share the crazy rollercoaster ride of emotions that is a BTS comeback. If you currently don’t have any friends in your real life who are fans, I would strongly suggest that you start converting them ASAP.

I’ve put together a guide on how to host your own BTS comeback party. Let’s get it!

The Best K-dramas on Netflix

K-drama

Here at Cactus Pop we cannot get enough of binge-watching dramas on Netflix. And following on from our telenovela addiction, comes our K-drama addiction! Korean dramas are practically perfect. They’re generally about 16 episodes long – perfect binge-watching length and don’t drag out the plot too much. They have the romance factor turned up to the maximum. And most have a pretty killer soundtrack. Plus if you’re into K-pop like we are, if there isn’t at least one K-pop star in the cast, you can bet there’s going to be one on the soundtrack. So, here’s our favourites so far!

Here’s a list of the best things that I ate and drank in Singapore.

Here’s Everything We Know About the Roswell Reboot

Those of you who watched Dawson’s Creek, Buffy and Felicity in the late ’90s, will remember the 1999 teen alien drama Roswell with Shiri Appleby and Katherine Heigl. It’s been 19 years since it first aired and like so many other TV shows of the same era (Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Party of Five), it’s being rebooted. A pilot episode was ordered by The CW and filmed in New Mexico last month but we’ll have to wait until mid-May to find out if it’s been picked up for a full season. As a mega fan of the original series and big supporter of the reboot (currently untitled), I’ve been ingesting all Roswell-related info in anticipation of a season pick-up. Hold onto your alien antennae, here’s everything we know about the Roswell reboot so far!
